Puerto Rico
We set off for the USA. Opinions are divided on whether this Caribbean island, officially designated a US territory, truly belongs to the United States. The locals, at least in part, prefer independence, and on the mainland, Puerto Rico is also considered "foreign." Despite this debate, we immediately feel much more Western than in Colombia, even though Spanish is still almost the only language spoken here. The roads are wider and the cars bigger. Away from the main roads, we discover mostly picturesque beaches and embark on a fantastic snorkeling trip. The old town of San Juan also impresses us with its charm. Only a few days spent sick in bed mar our time there.
