Washington City-44.jpg

Washington D.C.

Not to be confused with the state of Washington, the capital of the USA lies in the east of this vast country. Through fantastic museums and numerous memorials and monuments, we felt very close to the history of the USA. The political importance of this city was palpable, especially after seeing the White House. In our opinion, Washington D.C. is one of the most livable cities in the entire country, based on our own experiences and what we've heard. We were fortunate enough to participate in a demonstration for the rights of disabled people, where we marched on the Capitol, conducted several interviews, and met many interesting and friendly people.

Washington D.C.

In Washington, we had the great privilege of participating in a demonstration for the rights of people with disabilities. The demonstration focused on a fund that would support independent living for people with disabilities. Under the repeated chant of "Nothing about us without us," approximately 600 people with a wide range of disabilities demonstrated for a voice in decision-making and, quite literally, a place at the table.

Furthermore, at a subsequent event we were able to talk to some people and gain insights into the local activism.
